Hylase Administration

In addition to PRP treatment, Queensland Regen also offers ultrasound-guided cosmetic filler dissolution of hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers with hylase.

HA fillers is the most common cosmetic filler on the market for non-permanent volumising treatment of the face. While it is touted as a temporary product that gets dissolved away by the body slowly over the course of 8 to 12 months, recent studies have convincingly shown, in many patients, HA filler can persist much longer than that and sometimes permanently. Not only this can cause cosmetic issues, the un-dissolved HA fillers can easily be the source of much more serious complications such as infection or granuloma formation.

But often it’s almost impossible to detect small left over HA fillers without the use of ultrasound, therefore, the normal approach by other clinics is “spray and pray” – ie injecting blindly a large quantity of hylase close to where the injector think the filler might be and hoping some of it will come in contact with the filler! It is, unfortunately, not uncommon to have the injected hylase completely missing the filler.

Contrast to this, QR uses ultrasound to correctly visualise the left over filler and deposit appropriate dose of hylase right where the filler is. No missed injection, no unnecessary dosing of hylase.

(NB. please ensure your dermal filler is a Hyaluronic acid (HA) filler before booking. Common brands include Juvederm, Restylane, Belotero, Revanesse, Teosyal, Sculptra, and Aliaxin. Contact your filler injector if you are not sure. In addition, we do not treat vascular occlusion emergencies – please contact your filler injector immediately).
